Stand with Teachers for Racial Equity (raw audio)
The Portland Teachers Solidarity Campaign, with the Portland Parent Union and the Portland Student Union, held a press conference prior to the January 21st school board meeting, declaring that support for the Portland Association of Teachers demands for lower class sizes and wrap-around support services, less standardized testing, an end to racist school closures, and resources targeted to low-income schools, all would help create racial equity. The crowd of a dozen parents, teachers and students called for the board to quit stalling and settle a fair, equitable contract with the teachers. Recording (raw audio) by Jamie Partridge.
