Queer Culture Radio

Tonight we welcome a mix of art, wellness and celebrations from the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgendered, queer and questioning community. We also celebrate our allies!

Starting off the show is a music sample from La Pump titled 'Magnet'. This artist is performing as part of Electrogals, which is the feature for tonight's show.

Before we focus on Electrogals, Jake from Common Grounds Wellness Center, invites the gender queer and transgender community (and their friends/family) to the one year anniversary party of their trans and gender queer soak and sauna night. The celebration is happening tomorrow/Wednesday from 7 to 10pm. You can call: 503-238-1065 for reservations.

Music break from Silk & Olive "Brunch with Marie". Silk & Olive are performing with Electrogals.

Heather Perkins and Christi Denton talk with Carla about the many layers of female-created electronic art happening during Electrogals.

Music break from Natasha Kmeto "Swells Bells", another performer with at this event.

Heather & Christi share opportunities for volunteers, especially if folks are on a budget and would like to see a show for free. More discussion around workshops, installations, composers in residence and more. Lots of details are shared, so have something handy to take notes. Or check out the website for the full lineup and ticket information.

Music break from Cheetah Finesse "I'm Not Playing", one last audio sample of talent from the Electrogals lineup.

Sunny joins the conversation to share some herstory on June & Jean Millington. They are coming to town on tour to promote their new CD "Play Like a Girl". Their show is Saturday night at 8 pm at the Star Theater in downtown Portland.

We hear music samples from Jean & June Millington, including "Play Like a Girl" and "When You Bottom"
