This week on Century of Lies: The Global Overdose Crisis. The Seventy-Sixth World Health Assembly was held recently in Geneva, Switzerland. Among the side events at this year’s Assembly, UNAIDS and the Open Society Foundation hosted a discussion entitled “Responding to the global crisis of overdose.” We hear from some of the panelists including Christine Stegling, the Deputy Executive Director of the Policy, Advocacy and Knowledge Branch at UNAIDS and an Assistant Secretary-General of the United Nations; Cecilia Farfán, Head of Research at the Center for US-Mexican Studies at the University of California - San Diego; and Inés Mejía, an external consultant to the Ministry of Justice in Colombia, primarily consulting on drug policy reform and harm reduction.
