Documentaries and mockumentaries are coming to the big and small screens
Rick Goldsmith has been producing and directing documentaries for four decades and been nominated for Academy Awards for the 1997 documentary Tell the Truth and Run: George Seldes and the American Press and 2010’s The Most Dangerous Man in America: Daniel Ellsberg and the Pentagon Papers.
Rick's new film Stripped For Parts: Journalism on the Brink shines a light on the hedge funds buying up local newspapers then selling off their assets and leaving their communities poorer.
Then we encounter media figure Skweezy Jibbs, the star of Skweezy Jibbs Makes a Movie, a film-within-a-film — and traveling vaudeville-style show — brought to the big screen by the producers behind the hit shows Portlandia and Shrill.
