One of the measures on Oregonian's ballots this fall is Measure 116. If passed, it would create an Independent Salary Commission to determine the pay for state legislators and state elected leaders like the Governor, Secretary of State, Treasurer and BOLI Commissioner. It was referred to the ballot by a bipartisan majority of state lawmakers. There is no formalized opposition to the measure.

KBOO's Althea Billings spoke with Robin Ye from the Yes on Measure 116 campaign to learn more about why this issue is so important.
