"You could call it bearing witness to evictions ... observers have influence."

State and local leaders have extended the eviction moratorium for residential and retail renters since the COVID-19 pandemic is ongoing. The question of what happens when that moratorium ends is concerning for many advocates. While renters can't be evicted for owing rent now, once the state of emergency is lifted, the bill will come due.

David Rovics is a musician, podcaster, activist and anarchist in Portland, Oregon. He joins KBOO's Nat Moon to speak about the Portland Emergency Eviction Response (PEER), an direct action organizing against impending evictions in the city.
