Today's guests are Joy Margheim from the Oregon Center for Public Policy, and Ronault "Polo" Catalani from Portland's Office of Human Relations.
Joy was an author of the recent report by the OCPP that clearly shows, using US Census data, that our Immigrant Communities boost local economies where ever they form, including right here in Portland, Orygun.
Polo is working hard to redefine "immigrant" to mean "Newcomer in Our Community," a new term that avoids the negative stigmatism associate with the word "immigrant", and puts a positive spin on the contributions our newest community members have always given to our city and state.
