KBOO's Linda Olson-Osterlund interviews William Arkin, NBC Journalist and author of " Top Secret America: The Rise of the New American Security State" left his post at NBC in January and left behind a letter for his colleges now called "the perpetual War" letter. The letter decries the media "Trump Circus" and the failure of the national media to do analysis outside of the tweet storm. In his Goodbye letter he said the American press refuses to aggressively cover military activity. " I find it disheartening that we do not report the failures of the the generals and national security leaders," he said. "I find it shocking that we essentially condone continued American bumbling in the Middle East and now Africa from ho-hum reporting."
