Poet-dramatist Cindy Williams-Gutierrez was awarded the 2018 Editor’s Choice Poetry Prize from Willow Books for Inlay with Nacre the Names of Forgotten Women which explores the contemporary oppression of women around the world. She received the 2017 Oregon Book Award for Drama and the 2016 inaugural Oregon Literary Fellowship for Writers of Color. She was selected by Poets & Writers Magazine as a 2014 Notable Debut Poet for her poetry collection, the small claim of bones (Bilingual Press), which placed second in the 2015 International Latino Book Awards. Cindy has taught poetry to every grade from K-12 through the Portland Art Museum, Right Brain Initiative, and Writers in the Schools.
