What's the first thing you think of when you hear the word "librarian"? If you're like most people, the images you conjure up come from a variety of sources, including movies, TV, and popular culture, but they typically don't reflect who librarians are or what kind of work they do. Joining me to talk about these various misconceptions and the impact they have within the profession and among the communities we serve is Christina Steffy, Director of the Learning Commons at the Pennsylvania College of Health Sciences and author of Librarians and Stereotypes: So, Now What?, published in 2015 by Crave Press.
