Housing advocates discuss policies and programs to help elderly tenants struggling with housing issues

Sky-rocketing rents are especially hard on the elderly many of whom rely on Section 8 housing vouchers and Social Security. Meanwhile, Trump's budget proposals are creating uncertainty for federal and local agencies. What strategies to keep the elderly housed are being embraced by housing advocates here in Portland? What actions are being taken by state legislators and county commissioners? What resources are available for seniors who need assistance? Host Stephanie Potter speaks with Tram Hoang of Welcome Home, JoAnn Herrigel of Elders in Action, Laura Golino de Lovato of the NW Pilot Project , and Katrina Holland of the Oregan Community Alliance of Tenants.
