A ballot measure going before Lincoln County voters in the upcoming May election has attracted support and opposition from across the state and the country.
Measure 21-177 aims to ban aerial pesticide spraying in the county and establish in the law a respect for community environmental rights over the rights of corporations.
The group supporting the measure has received organizational support from the Community Environmental Legal Defense Fund, or CELDF, based in Pennsylvania.
The opposition group has received over seven times more money, with support from the state lobby groups Oregonians for Food & Shelter and the Oregon Forests & Industries Council, neither of which has responded to an interview request as of the March 30 news broadcast.
