Interview with author, ecologist & Carl Safina

Dab Steadman talks with author, ecologist and activist Carl Safina about his latest book "Beyond Words:  What Animals Think and Feel".  Among many honors, Dr. Safina was the recipient of the McArthur  "Genius" Award;     has hosted the PBS TV series "Saving the Ocean"  and has written seven books about nature and animal behavior. He is currently the Endowed Professor for Nature and Humanity at Stony Brook University.

Dr. Safina discusses the findings of his intimate field studies of elephants in Amboseli Park, Kenya;  his observations of several wolf packs in Yellowstone National Park; and his research about killer whales living in the Northwest. Along the way, the reader is both educated and entertained with fascinating antecdotes of animal bebavior as well as the latest discoveries about the brain...all leading to the conclusion that the  "fixed" line between human and non-human animals is growing blurrier by the minute!
