Tonight's Out Loud show features two annoucements and two interviews.First we hear from Soul, who interviews Keri, a volunteer with Brother to Brother and Basic Rights Oregon. They wrap up African American History Month and Keri shares his experiences as an African American transman in Portland.Our second interview features Diane and Jacob Anderson-Minshall, two local authors who are business and romantic partners. Jacob Anderson-Minshall writes the syndicated column TransNation and co-authors the Blind Eye Mystery series. Diane Anderson-Minshall is the executive editor of Curve magazine, the world’s largest lesbian publication.  As a freelance writer, Diane has been published in dozens of magazines and anthologies including Reading The L Word: Outing Contemporary Television; Bitchfest: Ten Years of Cultural Criticism from the Pages of Bitch Magazine; and Tough Girls.  She received Power Up’s Ten Amazing Gay Women in Showbiz Award in 2006 and recently joined the board of directors at Bitch Magazine. They are reading at In Other Words Bookstore this Thurs Feb 28. In Other Words Women’s Books and Resources is the last surviving non-profit feminist bookstore in the United States. More than a bookstore, In Other Words hosts a wide range of community events, meetings and workshops that include author readings, Spanish classes, writing workshops, concerts, art shows, yoga in addition to its new resource center designed to network and connect people to local services, classes, and organizations.Murder, Romance, Advice and Trans Feminism:  In Other Words—A Night of Queer Readings will happen this Thurs 2/28 at 6:30 pm. Diane and Jacob , our guests tonight, will be reading at this event. Other authors reading will be local authors, past Out Loud guests and Curve magazine's relationship advice columnists Lipstick and Dipstick, and Gabrielle Goldsby, who has worked in a variety of genres including period and modern romances, lesbian erotica and mystery; and published five books: The Caretaker’s Daughter, Never Wake, Such a Pretty Face and Wall of Silence. She will be reading from her forthcoming romance, Remember Tomorrow.   Community announcements: The Oregon Queer Youth Conference is happening Saturday March 15th, all day at Catlin Gabel school. All 23 and younger LGBTQ and allies are welcome. It's not required but it's nice - please register if you're planning to attend. KBOO will have a table so we'll see you there!This weekend, Sat March 1, is an international indie-music video event organized by the Church of Girl. This is happening at the Someday Lounge, located at 125 NW 5th downtown. Doors open at 9 pm and videos start at 10 pm. Dancing to follow.
