A protest was planned in Hawai'i for Friday February 22, 2008, to challenge the US Marine training at a 50,000 acre base contaminated with radiation. A complete environmental impact survey of the base has not been completed. The training location is at the two most sacred mountain peaks to the local peoples in the Pacific region, not to mention the unknown health threat to residents, troops and visitors. KBOO's Jenka Soderberg spoke today with Jim Albertini, a peace activist in Hawai'i.
