"Citizen Canine", interview with author David Grimm

They are our link to a forgotten time and they serve to bring solace and comfort to the elderly, the sick and even to prisoners who help to rehabilitate dogs with behavior issues, and in the process help in their own rehabilitation. Our pets have evolved almost to people. They have gained many more rights over the last few decades, and are fast moving from property to valued member of society.
