Vollmann. the author of nine novels, three collections of short fiction, a memoir, and six works of non-fiction, including the seven-volume treatise on violence, Rising Up and Rising Down. Vollmann won the 2005 National Book Award for Fiction for his novel Europe Central. His latest work is a collection of supernatural tales, Last Stories and Other Stories.
