In the wake of Superstorm Sandy, WFMU in Jersey City, NJ, has suffered a financial disaster. Sandy will end up costing the station some $250,000, as detailed in these articles from the Star-Ledger and from wfmu.org.
WFMU is one of the best radio stations in the country: independent, alternaitve, brave, exciting, and joyful to listen to. KBOO will be hosting a 4 hour special featuring excerpts from WFMU Station Manager Ken Freedman's "State of the Station", WFMU DJs, and our own free form musical selections to celebrate the joy of freeform radio, and to support the well loved WFMU by asking you to donate to their hurricane recovery silent fundraiser at https://www.wfmu.org/marathon/
