KBOO celebrates the international culture of women with 24 hours of special programming.

March 8th is International Women’s Day.

Continuing our annual tradition, KBOO is broadcasting an entire day of music, information, and news—all produced by about women.

Tune in anytime between 5:30 AM, Tuesday, March 8th, and 5:30 AM, March 9th to hear a variety of music and information highlighting the diversity of women’s experience.

Women in Prison

For International Women's Day, Prison Pipeline will explore the history of women in prisons and examine various issues affecting women in today's prisons. We will bring you excerpts from music, poetry and a play, all written by women in prison as well as voices from local women doing amazing things after having been incarcerated themselves. There will also be a discussion with the organizers of the Portland International Women's Day event.
Also, Jessica Amo from the Women's Resource Center at Portland State University will discuss current feminisms, Sexual Assault Awareness Month and campus sexual violence.
