Harriet Fasenfest's Householder's Guide; Air-Chilled Turkeys; Mark Bitterman's Manifesto on Salt

Former Food Show host Harriet Fasenfest has just published a philosophical book on progressive homemaking and urban farming. She returns to KBOO to discuss A Householder's Guide to the Universe.

But first, we talk air-chilled Thanksgiving turkeys with Geoff Latham of NICKY USA.

Finally, another Food Show alum Mark Bitterman, has come out with Salted, A Manifesto on the World's Most Essential Mineral, with Recipes. Co-host Laura McCandlish recently interviewed Bitterman at The Meadow, his gourmet boutique in Northeast Portland (with a second branch that just opened in NYC's West Village). He says to throw away the Morton's -- and even your Diamond Kosher Salt.
