May 31st is Save Our Schools Action Day, and Oregon SOS is working to mobilize communities across the state for stable school funding. All across Oregon school districts are facing shutdowns and layoffs even as Gov. Kitzhaber's new education committee is set to institute new educational standards -- but the governor proposes no dedicated school funding to achieve any of his public school mandates.
We're joined by Susan Barrett and Steve Buel with Oregon Save Our Schools, who'll speak on their grassroots strategy pushing state and federal officials to reform the kicker law, force the feds away from high stakes testing, and just generally get its act together on education for We The People.
