How We Won Health Care For All in Vermont: Can it Work in Oregon?

Kate Welch hosts a discussion about Single Payer Healthcare with Kate Kanelstein, an organizer with the Vermont Workers Center campaign that passed a universal healthcare system in Vermont, and Richard Bruno of Mad as Hell Doctors.

Kate Kanelstein is one of the organizers from the Vermont Workers Center who helped push through the legislation by working at the grass roots level, door to door throughout the state.

Richard Bruno is a medical student at OHSU. He has worked for Physicians for a National Health Program, and interned for Congressman Vic Synder, D. AZ. Richard has been videotaping stories of people affected by the lack of health care and is actively promoting Single Payer.

KBOO is one of the co-sponsors of "How We Won Health Care For All", a 10-city tour through Oregon by Vermont Workers Center organizers Kate Kanelstein and Sarah Weintraub from December 12 - 17.

The Portland event is Saturday December 12, 2011 from 1-4pm at PCC Cascade.
