It is heartening that over 7 million people participated in the last No Kings demonstrations and that they are happening in countless places across the country, in red and blue communities, rural, suburban and urban. But after the exhilaration of these marches and rallies, how do we sustain this energy and channel it into a powerful resistance movement?
On this episode of Locus Focus we talk with climate, labor and social justice activist Diana Meisenhelter about what it will take to focus all this energy into a force that can stand up to the spread of autocracy that threatens to bring down what’s left of American democracy.
Diana Meisenhelter has been a climate, labor, and social justice activist for over five decades. She currently works with the global, national, and local climate justice movement Extinction Rebellion and also is part of the NAACP Environmental Justice committee and is on the coordinating team of the Oregon Rising coalition.
