On this edition of Prison Pipeline: The Rebel Academy.
The Rebel Academy was created to bring GED instruction and tutoring to students rather than asking students to go to a campus and register for classes. The Rebel Academy’s mission is to create and deliver meaningful and affordable instruction that empowers our learning community, and create living-wage tutoring jobs for formerly incarcerated people.
To learn more, Prison Pipeline Collective member Doug McVay is joined in conversation by Lauren Zavrel, Ed.M., The Rebel Academy Founder and Director; Timothy Tipton, a Tutor at The Rebel Academy; and Christopher Randon, a Marketing Volunteer at The Rebel Academy and former tutor.
