Freedom for Political Prisoner Mutulu Shakur

Adam Carpinelli interviews Bob Lederer about the case of long term U.S.-held Political Prisoner Dr. Mutulu Shakur who is a 72 year old grandfather respected healer and was granted parole by the US Parole Commission. Mutulu is one of thousands of incarcerated older people in federal and state prisons who has been repeatedly denied parole for over a decade after completing his minimum sentence. Bob Lederer is a radical white queer man and longtime organizer of support for U.S. political prisoners. Bob is a co-founder of the anti-racist, anti-imperialist Resistance in Brooklyn collective and has done media work with the Spirit of Mandela Coalition. In 1985, he was imprisoned for three months, along with several other white radicals, for refusing to collaborate with a federal grand jury investigating revolutionary underground groups. He is currently cohost of a weekly queer left program (outfm.org) on Pacifica/WBAI Radio in New York.
