Sheila's book is unique in transgender literature because it addresses both topical and personal issues during the era when the transgender movement was first finding its place in political discourse.  The book consists of short and pithy essays designed to be stimulating and provocative.  Sheila Mengert is the author of 14 books on a variety of subjects from fiction to psychology including her short story collection "Auguries of Desolation" published by Blue Forge Press.
