Born into poverty in Mississippi, Ted Hawkins became a star late in life in Great Britain, France and Ireland in the late eighties and early nineties. At home, he played for tips at Venice Beach. In 1994 he released his breakthrough album ‘The Next One Hundred Years’ and finally got his recognition here in America. Unfortunately, he died less than a year later of a stroke.
