Well, I am here at KBOO! Finally doing the 3rd Thursday Rise when the Rooster Crows 5:30 to 7am.
My show will consist of about 30% contemporary folk legends. Music from Joan Baez, Judy Collins, Tom Paxton, Pete Seeger, Tom Rush, Peter Paul and Mary, Gordon Lightfoot and early Joni Mitchell are just a fast scratch on the surface of the great work put out in the 60's and 70's.
The rest of the show is made up of both local and national artists active today. I love a song with a social message.
In October ob 2011, the Farwest Folk Alliance held thier regional conference in Eugene. This was a great experience and and an opportunity to hear and meet many artists in the northwest. While there, I interviewed several and plan to sneek in excerpts from those interviews on my show.
