KBOO is open to the public! To visit the station, contact your staff person or call 503-231-8032.

It's especially busy at KBOO in the next few weeks. We've got the Martin Luther King Day events, including a day-long live broadcast from some of the festivities. We've also got the very important KBOO Community Meeting which I wrote about previously as well as our special one-day on-air fundraising day, "No Beginning Too Small" on January 31. (More on that next week). But what I really want to write about here today is two wonderful volunteers who have taken it upon themselves to do their part to help KBOO raise some cash:Ras Danny, of KBOO's Higher Reasoning Reggae, has organized a monthly reggae show at the Blue Monk as a benefit for KBOO.  The next show, January 26 at 9pm, features 7th Seal Band. Support Ras Danny and KBOO by checking out the show!Another volunteer who works on the Out Loud program, Soul Dancer, has organized a special workshop as a fundraiser for KBOO. On January 27 at 1pm, Soul Dancer will lead the "Pay Me What I'm Worth" workshop, based in his book of the same title. It's a great way to participate in a valuable, engaging and raise some money for KBOO. We'd love to see you there. If you are interested in creating your very own KBOO fundraising event let me know! Also we're starting to plan a big 40th Anniversary extravaganza to take place in June and we're looking for folks to help out with that. (More on that, too, next week!)
