Events that have shaped Wayne & Kathy's little corner in the KBOO world.

In January we attended the "River City Music Festival". While we enjoyed every performance we especially enjoyed Tommy Emmanuel, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Geoff Muldaur & The Texas Sheiks, Rodney Crowell and The Hot Club of Cowtown. It is sad to pass on that 2012 will be the last year of the "River City Music Festival" as we know it.

Rodney Crowell agreed to meet with us to conduct an interview re: his memoir "Chinaberry Sidewalks" which debuted in January of 2011 and due out in paperback in March of 2012. The result of the interview was it's inclusion on the KBOO program "Between The Covers" on Thursday, March 15 from 11-11:30 AM. The audio can be listened to and/or downloaded at http://kboo.fm/SwingCountry.

Short Description:
A Look At The Memoir "Chinaberry Sidewalks" With Author Rodney Crowell

The memoir "Chinaberry Sidewalks" debuted in early 2011. It was the first venture into the world of prose for "Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame" member and performing artist Rodney Crowell. Crowell also provided the reading for the audiobook of his memoir. He won an award for his efforts. "Chinaberry Sidewalks" is now due to come out in paperback on March 13.

Wayne and Kathy, from the "Swing & Country" DJ collective conduct this interview with Rodney Crowell. Crowell reads and comments on chosen passages and answers questions by the two hosts.

Dobro and steel guitar wizard Cindy Cashdollar, appearing as a member of "Texas Sheiks", also met with us to do an interview. She will be the featured artist on an upcoming "Swing & Country" broadcast.

We just passed the two year anniversary of hosting the third Saturday of "Swing & Country" and the March program marks a first for us. This will be our first time for having a live performance on the program. On top of the live performance we will also have a live audience of 30-40 people in Studio One. Fellow "Swing & Country" DJ's Henry & Moggy are scheduled to perform an opening set of tunes, followed by our featured artist, local singer-songwriter Dan Weber. Dan will showcase songs from his recently released CD"Ash And Bone".
